Feminine hygiene products are an unavoidable necessity, but unfortunately most of them are disposable. Being made of (partly) plastic and packaged in plastic, they are neither recyclable nor biodegradable. Disposable hygiene products are a significant regular expense. On average, a woman spends between €130 and €400 on various intimate hygiene products over 5 years.

Reusable menstrual pads, on the other hand, are a convenient alternative to disposable sanitary pads and tampons, as well as a less environmentally damaging solution.

Available in three different sizes:

✔️ S – 16 cm, for light flow (panty liner)

✔️ M – 26 cm, for medium flow (day pad)

✔️ L – 34 cm, for heavy flow (night pad)

Rocking Undies reusable menstrual pads are made of bamboo fabric, a thicker absorbent bamboo fabric and breathable waterproof fabric. Snap buttons for closing.

Why is bamboo fabric good?

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world. In the textile industry, bamboo is considered to be a very environmentally friendly raw material, as it grows quickly and naturally, without pesticides, herbicides or fertilisers, and it is also quite low water demanding.

Bamboo fabric is soft, smooth and well draping. Bamboo fabric helps to keep the skin dry, absorbs moisture very well (about 3 times better than cotton) and regulates body temperature (cooling in summer heat and warming in winter cold).

Textiles made from bamboo have natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, are non-irritating, non-allergenic and 100% biodegradable.

There is a label on the outside to help distinguish the absorbent side from the non-absorbent side. The side that does not have a label must face the body. Choose the width that suits you and attach the pad to your underwear with a snap button.

After use, rinse or wash under running water, do not leave to soak. Then put the sanitary pad in the washing machine with other dark clothes and wash in water up to 40°C.

Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hang to dry after washing. Do not use a dryer. Does not require ironing. Because the pad is made of several layers, it takes a little longer to dry than usual. Proper care will ensure a longer life for your reusable pad.

However, if the menstrual pad is left to soak or sit for too long, it is recommended to add vinegar (1:5) to the washing machine instead of laundry detergent. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to the machine to give it a pleasant fragrance.
